Our alliance is tennis, it’s true,
But we find there’s more to our glue –
with Curmudgeonly ethics and mores,
We’re spiteful in the face of age
as we plow through the slams of each stage…
‘Cause we’re brothers
at net and at love,
Bound by our gentlemanly sport
that guides us on- and -off-court.

Putting our mettle to the test
we encourage each other’s best:
Wins or losses we call equal –
victories all the same –
such is merit in our courtly game.
With regard to a questionable call (or two)…
We now surmise what’s true:
It’s aging eyes clouding perception,
and not purposeful deception
between us,

plus
unseemly greed for a win
is a Curmudgeon’s mortal sin!
Thus, we meet each battle
(wherever it rage)
with steady camaraderie
in youthful & timeless old age!

Exceptional job on the Curmudgeon site…a home for the enlightened player. Poets now sing of our exploits. Me thinks a theme song may be in the wind

Thank you for the high praise. We are fortunate that none of the pictured curmudgeons have aged since their photos were taken. We would be proud to publish a Curmudgeon theme song!
